Devante Arbet, aka “The Gospel Guru,” has made a name for himself as one of the leading Gospel bloggers and the curator of one of the premiere destinations for the latest in Gospel music and news. Arbet created TheGospelGuru.com in 2011, out of his love and knowledge of the genre, because he saw a need for more platforms dedicated to the preservation and presentation of Gospel music, its artists, news and events. The site attracts between 50 and 75 thousand visitors, monthly, and has solidified its place as a preeminent resource for Gospel entertainment and inspiration.
Arbet has lived up to his moniker by remaining at the forefront of all that is going on within the industry. Now, responding to increased demand, Arbet is expanding his popular brand with the launch of The Gospel Guru LIVE, a weekly Gospel music and inspirational radio show, which debuted in February 2017. The Gospel Guru LIVE airs between 4 and 6pm CST, in Arbet’s home state of Louisiana, on KJMG Majic 97.3 FM, and is also broadcast live online atTheGospelGuru.com. The Gospel Guru LIVE plays today’s hits and beloved classics of the genre. The show features artist interviews and an intriguing exclusive segment called “Ask Gospel Guru,” where Arbet will field questions and dish on the latest hot topics in Gospel Music.
The Gospel Guru LIVE premiered on Sunday, February 5th, and cracked the mic for the very first time with the song, “I’m Good” by Tim Bowman, Jr. Bowman’s musical style is steeped in tradition – as the son of esteemed Jazz musician, Tim Bowman, and the nephew of Gospel legend, Vickie Winans – yet he is currently carving out his own lane with a bold, fresh, and contemporary new sound which is featured on the Grammy nominated release, upon which “I’m Good” is found. Arbet chose Bowman as the first artist to grace the The Gospel Guru LIVE airwaves because he, like the show itself, simultaneously represents the beloved traditions and the bold innovations of the genre.

The inaugural installment will take place on Friday, March 24th during Stellar Awards Weekend, in Las Vegas. The exclusive panel discussion, and luncheon, will feature Stellar Award-Winning Celebrity Photographer, Derek Blanks, Renowned Fashion Stylist, Goo Goo Atkins, Recording Artist B. Slade, and Industry Executives Gabby Sands of RCA Inspiration and Greg “Uncle G” Lyons of Uncle G Records. The esteemed panel, moderated by The Gospel Guru himself, will discuss trends, topics, and tactics pertinent to the Gospel Music industry,.
