The Nielsen Soundscan charts are in and taking the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top Gospel Album chart is J.J. Hairston and Youthful Praise with their new release “After This.” The new project is the sixth album from J.J. Hairston and Youthful Praise via Light Records.

The project was recorded live at The First Cathedral in Bloomfield, Connecticut and features the title track and lead single “After This,” and guest appearances from Tye Tribbett, LaShun Pace, Pastor Hezekiah Walker, and more. The new project moved an outstanding 11,938 units in the first week, so congrats to J.J. Hairston and Youthful Praise for a successful first week!

Taking the No. 2 position on Billboard’s Top Gospel Album chart is Wow Gospel 2012. Coming in at No. 3 is Fred Hammond with his latest release “God, Love, & Romance.” James Fortune and FIYA snagged the No. 4 spot with their latest effort “Identity.” And coming in at No. 5 is William McDowell with “Arise.” Well, there’s your Top 5 Gospel Artists and Albums!
