7up w/ Jessica Reedy

The Gospel Guru caught up with BET’s Season 2 Sunday Best runner up and Light Records Recording artist,Jessica Reedy for a 7up session. We all know Jessica from BET’s hit singing competition Sunday Best where she captured the hearts of many viewers. Since her appearance on Sunday Best we’ve been awaiting her debut album. Well, the wait is over! Jessica Reedy’s highly anticipated debut album “From the Heart” will be in stores and online tomorrow, September 27th!

I think it’s safe to say that the album was well worth the wait, I have a feeling that Jessica Reedy fans won’t be disappointed with “From the Heart.” Please go out and support this great artist and her ministry. Now sit back, relax, and get a bit of 7up with Jessica Reedy.

  1. Describe Jessica Reedy in three words. I’m a passionate Jesus lover.
  2. What was your inspiration for “From the Heart?” I just wanted it to be real. I want my relationship with God to be real so the only way to do that is to make sure everything comes from the heart. My heart always tells the truth; no matter what my actions are my heart ALWAYS tells the truth! So that’s what kinda birthed “From the Heart.”
  3. What was it like collaborating with Faith Evans, and how did that collaboration come about? She’s an amazing person! The collaboration came about because she’s a great friend with my manager, Phil Thornton. And basically told him hey Phil, Jessica and me gotta do a song together. I wasn’t brave enough to ask her to do a song with me, but for her to initiate the contact was a tremendous blessing.
  4. What was your most memorable experience in the making of “From the Heart?” Most memorable experience would have to be when I was finished with it. We were going through so many songs, and I was like wow we’re actually having a meeting about me recording an album! It just hit me, I couldn’t believe it was happening; God has let my dreams come true! So that would have to be the most memorable experience.
  5. Who does Jessica Reedy look up to? My mother, she’s the best undiscovered artist in the world! My mom HAS to be apart of my second album.
  6. If you could change one thing about your Sunday Best experience what would it be? I wouldn’t change a thing!
  7. What advice would you give to Andrea Healms, the season 4 runner up? I’d say to her, who loses if God gives you a platform. No one loses! It’s a fixed competition because what’s been has already been. There are no losers when we are in Christ. The winner didn’t need to win a title to be a winner, does that give you more value? No, you were valuable before anybody else knew you but God! We’re all winning because it’s all for the kingdom. It’s a group effort; we’re all winning.
